What's on at the Library

Special events

Throughout the year we hold a number of special events to raise vital funds that are needed to keep the library open. Such events include coffee mornings, book sales and talks. Details of forthcoming events will be posted on the home page of the website, under the 'Latest news' heading.

Knit and natter group

The library 'Knit and Natter' group meets on Monday afternoons in the library (outside normal opening hours), from 2.00pm to 4.00pm. We aim to be an informal, relaxed and supportive group and welcome people with all skill levels. Each member gives a donation of £1 per session to help the library funds, and as well as the knitting and nattering, we enjoy tea or coffee and biscuits during the afternoon.

Group visits

On several occasions during the year, we are very pleased to welcome children from Embsay Primary School to the library for special visits. We can generally arrange a time for your visit outside the normal opening hours so that you can have the library to yourself, and can provide activities to introduce children to using the library and the shelving systems used. Please contact us to discuss your requirements and to arrange a visit.
